Seguin Trip – March 7, 8, 9

Mel (Molly) and I went to Seguin this weekend to have a last little hoorah before traveling was out of the picture (and boy was it… that wife of mine is a trooper). When we got to my brother’s (John) house on Saturday, he was constructing this sweet two-room, one-halled tent contraption. I tell you what, if I was about 3 feet shorter and  134 pounds lighter, I’d love to have gotten in that baby.

Later that night, before watching ‘I Am Legend,’ I kinda went hay-wire with the camera and started snapping like crazy. Unfortunately, the sum-total of all usable image was this one (though I must say her look is priceless):

We left John’s house and got home at 12:30-ish in the morning. Not too bad, ‘cept, here’s the rub – it was Daylight Saving Time weekend. Guh. Nothing like getting in to bed at 2 in the morning. However, it was okay because Mel and I woke up to the kids playing with their toys on a beautiful Sunday morning.

Same picture, with a little different flava…

Overall, I’d say it was a pretty enjoyable weekend. Our nieces and nephews are adorable.

Notable quotes from the weekend:

‘You’re one fat Tuck’ – Mary, talking about their cat, Tucker’

Hi, baby Molly’ – Annie, as she walked by and waved at Melanie’s tummy

‘Ice cream is cold’ – Mary, in reference to a conversation about my brother getting on to my nephews throwing things at each other

‘No! You’re doing it wrong! It goes like this!’ – John (the Elder), then many others, in reference to a little jam-session on Friday night

Love your new blog! The pictures are wonderful….you really got artsy with Mary….and captured her little well, as you did John and Vincent. Thanks for sharing these with all.
